How to Renew ILOE Insurance Online – Renewal Process

The ILOE Insurance Renewal is a mandatory process for all ILOE policy holders in the UAE. The workers can apply online to renew ILOE Insurance at ILOE website or through ILOE Mobile App.

According to the government rules, every government and private sector worker is required to buy an ILOE Insurance Policy.

In case of a sudden job loss, the worker can claim ILOE Insurance to receive 60% of the average basic salary of last 6 months as cash compensation for 3 consecutive months.

The ILOE Insurance has a validity of 1 year or 2 years. The workers are required to renew their ILOE Insurance on or before expiry to continue getting policy benefits.

ILOE Insurance Renewal Conditions

There are some specific conditions for ILOE Insurance Renewal, the workers must fulfill all the conditions to renew their ILOE Insurance in 2024.

1. Must have a Valid Emirates ID
2. Must have a Valid Passport
3. Must have a Valid Residency Visa [for Foreign Workers only]
4. Must be Employed Currently
5. Must have paid all premiums of the ILOE Insurance till Now

How to Renew ILOE Insurance Online

To renew ILOE Insurance online, you have to visit the ILOE website and follow the step-by-step process given as follows.

Step 1: Go to ILOE Website Portal

Go to the ILOE official website portal @www.iloe.ae. You can click on this link to open ILOE website on your device.

Step 2: Click on Subscribe/Renew Here

On the ILOE homepage, find out Subscribe/Renew Here option highlighted in red colour. You should click on it to continue.

Step 3: Click on Subscribe Here

As you click on Subscribe/Renew Here option, a popup window will show up on screen. Read the important info and then click on Subscribe Here option that is highlighted in red colour.

Step 4: Select Individual and Choose Work Sector

Now you need to select the Individual option and then choose your work sector.

• If you are a Federal Government Employee, choose that option.
• If you are a Private Sector Employee, choose that option.
• If you are a Free Zone Employee/Worker, choose Not Registered with MOHRE option.

You must select the correct work sector otherwise you cannot renew your ILOE Insurance.

Step 5: Provide Your Emirates ID Number or Unified Number

Enter your Emirates ID Number correctly in the given box. If you have a UID then enter your Unified Number.

Step 6: Provide Your Mobile Number and Click Request OTP

After entering your Emirates ID or Unified Number, you have to provide your mobile number. You must enter the Mobile Number that is registered with ILOE i.e. the mobile number that you used at the time of buying ILOE Insurance subscription.

Then click on Request OTP to proceed.

Now enter & submit the OTP to verify. As you submit the OTP, your login will be successful.

Step 7: Select Renew, Choose Validity and Premium Frequency

After login, you should look for Renew option and select it to continue. Thereafter choose your ILOE Insurance Plan Validity as 1 Year or 2 Years or any other, if available.

You can select the insurance premium frequency as monthly or quarterly or semi-annually or annually. Choose the payment frequency as per your convenience.

Step 8: Pay Insurance Premium to Finish

Finally, click on Pay option and pay the Insurance Premium plus VAT to finish the ILOE Renewal Process.

Save the payment receipt (or confirmation message) and log out of ILOE website.

Renew ILOE Insurance through ILOE App

You can use ILOE Smart Mobile App to renew your ILOE Insurance from your mobile phone.

Get ILOE Insurance App for Android or iPhone/iPad or Huawei Device

1. Open ILOE App on your mobile.
2. Login to the app with your Emirates ID/UID and Password or Login with OTP. If you are using ILOE App first time, tap on Create an Account to register.
3. After login, check your ILOE Insurance Policy details.
4. Tap on Subscribe/Renew option, Accept terms & conditions and provide necessary details.
5. Choose your insurance validity and payment frequency for premium/fee.
6. Pay the ILOE Insurance Fee to continue.

In this way, you can renew your ILOE Insurance online via ILOE website portal and ILOE Mobile App.

Payment Issues in ILOE App (What to do?)

Many workers have faced payment issues in ILOE Mobile App. I talked to the workers to know more about it and they explained that everything is fine in the ILOE App but the app gets stuck when they try to pay the insurance premium/fee.

The workers claimed that the ILOE website works fine with payment processing tasks and they did not face any problem when using the ILOE website portal.

ILOE Insurance Renewal Fee

The ILOE Insurance Renewal Fee is Zero, you just need to pay the Insurance Premium/Fee and VAT.

There is No Service Charge for ILOE Insurance Renewal at ILOE website and ILOE Mobile App. On the other hand, the service charge for ILOE Insurance Renewal is applicable at all third party service channels.

ILOE Insurance Fine for Renewal

The ILOE Insurance Fine for Renewal is AED 200. The fine is applicable to the policy holders who have not paid the insurance premium/fee for 3 consecutive months or more.

The ILOE Insurance Fine is Not applicable to the workers who have paid all insurance premium installments regularly.

ILOE Insurance Premium after Renewal

The ILOE Insurance Premium after renewal is the same as earlier. The MOHRE, Government of UAE has not increased the premium amount. After ILOE Insurance Renewal, the workers are required to pay the insurance premium as follows;

[1.] Basic Salary of AED 16000 or Less – AED 5 per month i.e. AED 60 per annum (VAT not included)

[2.] Basic Salary above AED 16000 – AED 10 per month i.e. AED 120 per annum (VAT not included)

ILOE Insurance Premium Payment Frequency

At the time of purchase/renewal, the workers can choose the insurance premium payment frequency. There are four payment options available for ILOE Insurance Premium as follows;

• Monthly – Pay insurance premium every month
• Quarterly – Pay insurance premium in every 3 months
• Semi-annually – Pay insurance premium in every 6 months
• Annually – Pay insurance premium every year (in every 12 month)

Online Payment Options for ILOE Insurance Premium

The ILOE Insurance Policy Holders (Workers) can pay the insurance premium online using three different methods/options.

• Samsung Pay App
• All VISA Credit Cards and VISA Debit Cards
• All MasterCard Credit Cards and MasterCard Debit Cards

Before you proceed for online payment of ILOE Insurance Premium at ILOE website or in ILOE App, make sure that you have a suitable payment option available with you.

When Should you Renew your ILOE Insurance?

You should renew your ILOE Insurance in last 30 days before expiry. All UAE employees must renew their ILOE Insurance to continue the unemployment coverage benefits.

In case a worker fails to pay the insurance premium on time or the insurance coverage is not continuous, the worker is not eligible to claim the benefit on sudden job loss. The worker may also have to pay insurance fine for not renewing ILOE on time.

So, I strongly recommend you to renew your ILOE Insurance in the last 30 days of its expiry.

Note: The workers with an Active ILOE Insurance will receive a notification via email and SMS to Renew ILOE Insurance before a few days of the policy expiry.

What If you Don’t Renew ILOE Insurance on Time

The workers in UAE with an Active ILOE Insurance Policy must renew their insurance before expiry. If you do not renew your ILOE Insurance on time, you will face following consequences.

1. You will get charged with ILOE Insurance Fine that you have to pay before you apply for renewal after expiry or given time limit.
2. Even if you lose your job, you will not be eligible to raise ILOE Insurance Claim for next 12 months as there is a gap between your insurance expiry date and renewal date.
3. In case you do not renew your ILOE Insurance for several weeks/months, you will have to pay hefty fines and must purchase a fresh ILOE Policy later.

You can avoid the consequences mentioned above by renewing your ILOE Insurance on time and continue your unemployment insurance coverage.
