How to Get RTA Tourism Certificate: Application Process, Eligibility and Fees
The RTA tourism certificate is mandatory to take your car outside the UAE for tourism and official purposes. It is also known as the vehicle tourism certificate.
The RTA authority provides a vehicle tourism certificate on a request basis. Both individuals and companies can apply for a vehicle tourism certificate from RTA.
The RTA tourism certificate allows the vehicle owner to take their vehicle outside UAE across all GCC countries including Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Eligibility for RTA Tourism Certificate
Both the individuals and business organizations/companies who possess a vehicle registered with RTA, are eligible to apply for a vehicle tourism certificate from RTA Dubai.
Note: The individuals/companies whose vehicle is registered in Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Sharjah or any other Emirate except Dubai, can not get a tourism certificate from RTA Dubai. They can apply for a tourist vehicle certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), UAE.
Required Documents for RTA Tourism Certificate
The RTA authority issues a vehicle tourism certificate after verifying the application form, necessary documents and fees submitted by the applicant.
The documents needed for RTA tourism certificate are different for individual applicants and business organizations/companies. Here I provide the list of documents required to apply for a tourism certificate in Dubai.
List of Documents for Individual Applicants
- Emirates ID.
- Vehicle Ownership Certificate.
- An Electronic No Objection Certificate (eNOC) is issued by the Mortgage Company if the vehicle is under mortgage.
- If the applicant is an Expat Resident, they have to provide An Electronic No Objection Certificate (eNOC) issued by the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO).
- The Emirati Citizens, GCC Nationals/Citizens, Government Corps and Diplomats do Not need to provide an eNOC issue by the EMSO.
List of Documents for Companies:
- An Official Letter Written in Arabic from the Company with a Request to Issue a Vehicle Tourism Certificate.
- A Copy of Trade License of the Company.
- Vehicle Ownership Certificate.
- Authorization Letter and Endorsement of Signature.
- An Electronic No Objection Certificate (eNOC) issued by the Mortgage Company if the vehicle is under mortgage.
- An eNOC or NOC issued by the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO), if applicable.
All the documents mentioned above are mandatory to apply for a vehicle tourism certificate to RTA Dubai. If required, the RTA authority may request for additional documents to process your request to issue a tourism certificate for your vehicle.
RTA Tourism Certificate Fees
When an individual/company applies for an RTA Tourism Certificate, they have to pay the fees to the Roads & Transport Authority, Dubai.
The Fees for RTA Tourism Certificate are different for light vehicles, medium heavy vehicles, heavy vehicles and other vehicles. Here I provide the RTA tourism certificate fees details as under;

- Heavy Mechanical Equipment: 200 Dhs
- Bus with 14 to 26 Passenger Capacity: 100 Dhs
- Bus with More than 26 Passenger Capacity: 200 Dhs
Additional Fees:
- Knowledge & Innovation Fee: 20 Dhs
- Customs Book Issue Fee: 50 Dhs
You must pay an additional fee of 70 Dhs also to get an RTA Tourism Certificate.
How to Apply for RTA Tourism Certificate
You have to visit your nearest RTA Customer Happiness Center or Vehicle Registration & Inspection Center to apply for an RTA tourism certificate.

- Go to your nearest RTA Customer Happiness Center or Vehicle Registration & Inspection Center in Dubai.
- Meet a front desk officer and request for a vehicle tourism certificate.
- The officer will provide you a link to upload required documents.
- Open that link and upload all required documents to receive a transaction code from RTA.
- Provide the transaction code to the officer.
- The officer will process your application and verify your details/documents.
- Now, you and the officer have to sign the application electronically.
- Pay the application fee by cash or credit card or other mode as available.
- Soon you will receive an email containing your RTA tourism certificate in electronic format.

RTA Tourism Certificate Validity

Can I Apply for RTA Tourism Certificate Online?
No, the RTA authority accepts the application for a tourism certificate in-person at RTA Customer Happiness Centers and at Vehicle Registration & Inspection Centers. The RTA Dubai does not provide an online application service to get a vehicle tourism certificate.
RTA Tourism Certificate Terms & Conditions
In order to get a tourism certificate from RTA Dubai, the applicant must have all required documents and must fulfill all terms & conditions given below;
- The applicant or their legal representative must be present at the time of applying for an RTA tourism certificate at a Customer Happiness Center or Vehicle Registration & Inspection Center.
- Both the vehicle owner and the other person (e.g. driver) must be present at the RTA Service Center and the owner must provide an Authorization Letter if the other person is going to take the vehicle outside UAE.
- The applicant must pay all traffic fines before applying for an RTA tourism certificate.
- In case the applicant wants to send the vehicle outside UAE in transport via a cargo company, the cargo company name must be mentioned in the application form and the same must be added to the tourism certificate.
- The UAE Nationals/Citizens and GCC Nationals/Citizens need to provide an eNOC (Electronic No Objection Certificate) issued by Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO) only if they want to take the vehicle outside the GCC countries.
